Project Overview
Official website of The Odisha Livestock Resources Development Society (OLRDS) which was established in the year 2000. OLRDS, a society under the Department of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department, Govt. of Odisha is registered vide Order No. 21074/213 dt.25.10.2000 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Initially OLRDS was formed to ensure smooth implementation of the Central Sector Scheme “National Project for Cattle & Buffalo Breeding” (NPCBB). Subsequently, OLRDS has been designated as State Implementing Agency (SIA) for Bovine Breeding activities of the State. OLRDS somberly takes steps for survey, characterization, registration and conservation of native livestock breeds of the State in terms of their confirmation, production and reproduction performances. Besides it is the principal agency for implementation of the Risk Management & Livestock Insurance programs in the State. The aim & objectives of these programs is to boost up rural economy through livestock development.
